Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have invested over ₹20,000 crore ($3.1bn) into Indian stocks in the first two weeks of May. Figures from NSDL reveal that financial stocks were the most popular picks for investors, who contributed ₹8,382 crore. Automobiles ranked second, with investments of ₹4,705 crore. Within emerging markets, India is most attractive to investors at present, receiving the most capital in May 2018. Analysts believe that while the global backdrop remains favourable to investors, concerns continue to exist over selling by domestic funds, with concerns that mutual funds may take a position on raising cash.
